Yann Aubert has performed as a professional ballet dancer in some of the worlds greatest companies including the Stuttgart Ballet and the Béjart Ballet. He has danced great roles in ballets from famous choreographers.

With more than a decade of stage experience (over 1000 performances), Yann Aubert can be considered as a professional in his field.

After having stoped his dancing career in 1997 do to physical problems, he is now devoting his time to promote other artists and has started a new career as a manager.

The Dance Career

Yann Aubert was born in Geneva, Switzerland. He began his ballet training at the "Conservatiore de Musique de Genève" where he studied for five years alongside his normal schooling. Very soon after he recieved the very competed for Migros-Scholarships for the Academy of Music (Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung) in Munich, for the Paris Opera Ballet School and also for the "École de Danse de Genève". He studied one year at each school. In 1987 he recieved his Diploma as a dancer from the Swiss Head Association for Professionals in Dance. His first engagement was then in 1987 with the Ballet Junior in Geneva.

In 1988 he became a member of the Béjart Ballet in Lausanne under the direction of the famous Choreographer, Maurice Béjart.

Since 1989 he danced with the world-renowned Stuttgart Ballet under the direction of Marcia Haydée. During his many years with the Stuttgart Ballet he performed with the company and toured all over the world with a very wide spectrum of classical and modern ballets.

In 1996 Reid Anderson became director of the Stuttgart ballet. Under the direction of Reid Anderson, Yann Aubert danced in 1997 the leading role of "Tybalt", in John Crankos masterpiece, "Romeo und Juliet".

Helping Others

During his career he always took time to help others and perform often in benefits. He gave his time for Young Choreographers workshops to help promote new talents. For example, he danced the Pas de Deux of "Eines Tages" from Renato Zanella, who has become the Director and Choreographer for the Vienna Opera House Ballet. He also performed for the Israeli Choreographer, Lior Lev, in his ballet "Tikva" which was also invited to Israel for the finals of the "Shades of Dance Young Choreographers Competition".

For this occasion the famous Israeli critic Giora Manor wrote for the "Israel Dance Magazine" August 1997, "Lior Lev brought with him from The Stuttgart Ballet, an outstanding brilliant dancer, Yann Aubert".

Starting 1997 Yann retired from dancing in the ballet company. After a period of re-orientation he started to work as a manager and agent for shows and artists. From there, he opened the Yann Aubert Agency.
