The
renowned percussionist Mehmet Akatay is known for his
productivity due to his works with Turkish musicians
as well as foreigners.
Having
toured extensively with the Turkish Roman band Laço
Tayfa (of which he is still a member) and Brooklyn Funk
Essentials in and outside of Turkey. He has also taken
part in projects with the Austrian duo Dzihan and Kamien,
the percussion master Misirli Ahmet, Okay Temiz and Mercan
Dede.
He
is now in the studio recording his latest project “The
Akatay Project”.
